Even just the 2.3 ecoboost would be amazing.

Every bit of Smallblock Fanboy in me is screaming “BUT THAT MEANS YOU’LL HAVE TRUCK HEADS”, but this isn’t a mid 70’s 302 and this isn’t The Coral...I shouldn’t post both there and on Oppo at 3am...

Yep now we just need the 2.7TT in something under 3500 pounds (AWD Fusion RS?), and the 3.5TT in anything that isn’t the size of a house. And the 2.0, 2.3, and 2.7 in every Mazda.

My truck weighs 3025lbs at the curb with the 4.0 in there full of fluids and with a full tank of gas. I can only imagine how light it would be with 1.3L less displacement

Would it even fit? Those Rangers are pretty narrow. A dohc tt V6 is pretty wide.

Actually with DOHC, a graphite iron block, and twin turbos, it probably would weigh more.

This makes me wonder about the viability of a C6/C7 drivetrain in a Chevy S10 body - and I was initially thinking of just the base models. Now imagine a true Syclone (or more befitting, Psycholone) with a Z06 drivetrain.
